Bennie and Theresa DeMerchant
A New Brunswicker, Bennie DeMerchant, and his wife, Theresa, were appointed to the Amazon of Brazil in 1964. They thank God for 42 years of service. Your prayers and support have made the difference! DeMerchant combines evangelism tools of Cessna single engine seaplanes—he has flown thousands of hours—with a fleet of boats and aluminum canoes to plant churches in the Amazon. Theresa DeMerchant, national director of Bible schools, works with one near her home that accommodates up to 300 students and 40 other Bible schools with decades of training and 3,600 alumni and 160 teachers. Since 1989 DeMerchant superintends the UPC of Brazil with its 24 districts and 1,000 congregations. Obviously it is complicated to leave the work with such demands to raise needed PIM support.
